Welcome Cyber Riskers! Cyber Risk Meetups usually run every quarter across 6 different cities with more than 120 in attendance to hear from esteemed industry panels and Executive leaders. With the ever-changing landscape of our world, it is important to continually equip our community with industry experience sharing and the exchange of knowledge.

 

These days, Cyber Risk Meetup has gone virtual and our last few episodes saw more than 215 industry leaders tuning in! With our community of nearly 3,000 strong members across Australia, Singapore and Japan, including many new friends joining us from all over the world, this has become a wonderful way to get everyone connected.

Cassandra Crowe has 18 years of experience across financial services and has spent her career focused on the end investor and improving retirement outcomes. Cassandra lives in Sydney and has worked internationally over her career, spending three years based in London.

Currently Cassandra is Vice President and head of Consultants T.Rowe Price Australia and New Zealand, a global investment management firm. Cassandra also acts as an Advisor to a recently launched Fintech, Super Rewards, fusing technology and e-commerce to help to close the gender super gap and is a Board Director of the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Sydney who work to raise the standards of ethics, integrity and education. Cassandra is an active member of the CFA Australia Diversity Committee who focus on promoting greater inclusion across financial services for the betterment of society.

Ale Vendramin is a creative and adaptive leader, he is successful at building respected and high-performing teams in tech, media and multiple digital businesses across the globe. Ale has vast experience leading large consultative teams and cultivating strong C-level executive relationships. 


As a global person, he is driven and highly adaptable, operating in several languages and cultures. Ale has sat on a couple of Boards and before that, he was leading a strategic team in Google to deliver the biggest growth in Google’s advertising revenue in Australia and New Zealand.

Magda Lilia Chelly is the co-founder of a cybersecurity marketplace Responsible Cyber and an identity wallet Secucial. Both companies are based in Singapore, however Magda spends most of her time within her clients’ offices, as she is also a CISO On Demand. 

She speaks five languages fluently and has a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering with a subsequent specialization in cyber security and a CISSP. She also was recently nominated as global leader of the year at a TOP 50 cyber security influencer globally, TOP 30 women leaders in cyber security, as well as TOP 58 Women In Cyber Security to Follow on Twitter and TOP 20 Cyber Security Experts.

Mihoko Matsubara is Chief Cybersecurity Strategist, NTT Corporation, Tokyo, being responsible for cybersecurity thought leadership. She worked at the Japanese Ministry of Defense before her MA at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies on Fulbright. Her most recent experience includes VP and Public Sector Chief Security Officer for Asia-Pacific at Palo Alto Networks.

 

She is Adjunct Fellow at the Pacific Forum, Honolulu, and Associate Fellow at the Henry Jackson Society, London. She published a book on cybersecurity in Japanese from the Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd. in 2019. She has spoken at various engagements internationally such as RSA Conference 2018 and 2019 in San Francisco, the EU Cyber Forum 2019 in Brussels, and CyCon 2015 and 2019 in Tallinn, Estonia.

- Differing roles and responsibilities of the Board VS. Executives
- Pivoting from Management to Board Directing
- Practical Tips for effective board directorship

When the Chiefs get REAL

In this 4th episode, our APAC Chiefs get together and get REAL on the diverse observations and perspectives the industry face in the different regions.

 

In this 30 mins edition, Cyber Risk Meetup founder Shamane Tan, together with co-host and Tokyo Chapter Lead, Steven Li, will discuss with the Chiefs a range of topics, from their cybersecurity mission, to regional trends of cyber attacks, and how industry leaders can navigate through this pandemic crisis.

Jeff McArthur is an internationally experienced Banker having been in the Financial Services Industry for over 20 years in the UK/Europe, New Zealand and Australia. This has included roles within Banking, Wealth, including insurance and investments including brands such as Lloyds Banking Group, Scottish Widows and Standard Life. Jeff was previously a Head of Compliance and also Head of Digital Risk at Westpac for 7 years prior to joining Greater Bank in 2019 as the Chief Risk Officer with accountabilities for all financial and non-financial risk.

In this 30 mins edition, Cyber Risk Meetup host Shamane Tan will get Jeff to share his perspectives and impressions of dealing with various Cyber Security leaders throughout his career. Jeff will also share some BCP learnings through the lens of Cyber Risk. 

A range of different topics will be discussed, touching briefly on the differences in working in a Global Bank VS. a Digital Bank, to his experience of communicating with the Board, ending off with practical tips which will equip our industry leaders to better speak with the rest of the C-Suite.
