Join us for a sequel of the successful Cyber Risk Insights series where we will be discussing the effects and repercussions of the SOCI (Critical Infrastructure) Act changes that have now fully passed.
With a special presentation by the Department of Home Affairs. The Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre drives an all‑hazards critical infrastructure regime in partnership with governments, industry and the broader community enabled by a stronger focus on cyber security. Assistant Director, Cyber and Infrastructure Security Outreach, Kath Forward, will deliver a session on the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 providing a high-level overview of the reforms including the positive security obligations and government assistance measures. Kath will be accompanied by the JCSC WA Director Theo Anton, and CISC WA Cyber Outreach Officer, Hannah Rodgers.
Followed by an unmissable panel session with industry experts and fellow cyber risk professionals!

The Cyber Risk Meetup is back! More than 120 members meet regularly every quarter to hear from esteemed industry panels and our Executive leaders. With the ever changing landscape of our digital world, it is important to continually equip our community with the various aspects of managing Cyber Risks. Cyber Risk can exist in an almost limitless number of forms, ranging from natural disasters, or catastrophic accidental events, to the external malicious and calculated attacks, to even the insider threat or human mistakes.

Shamane Tan works with C-Suite executives to ascertain the best approach for uplifting the corporate security posture and managing cyber risk in a digital age. She is the author of the book 'Cyber Risk Leaders' which is a CISO handbook containing rich insights from 30+ CxOs across industries, from all over the world on modern day Cyber Security challenges. She is also the founder of Cyber Risk meetup which has 1,800 members across Australia and Singapore. Her events offer security enthusiasts and executives an important platform to impart and exchange innovative insights. Shamane is also a huge advocate and business champion for cyber risk professionals and actively encourages people to look for new ways to take a step forward.
Chad Madaffari has over 15 years experience in the IT industry mostly within enterprise infrastructure environments and has now been leading the Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers (WesCEF) security program for the last 3 years. Prior to leading the security program, Chad was a highly successful network engineer with a passion for network and system security. Chad is responsible for all aspects of the WesCEF security program with a focus on managing cyber security risk at appropriate levels for Information and Operational Technologies. Chad holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) focused in Information Technology and Systems from Curtin University of Technology and is CISSP certified
Denis Coldham is an IT Lecturer and Head of Programs IT at South Metropolitan TAFE, helping students through their learning journey as they study IT. After working in SME IT for many years, and several years as an IT educator Denis can use his experience to help students reach their goals.

Janette Opperman is a seasoned IT Manager with 28 years of experience in IT and engineering. She has worked across projects and operations in a number of industries such telecommunication, manufacturing, and oil and gas. She currently leads the support team for Gorgon, Wheatstone and WA Oil, ensuring the reliability and availability of Information Technology (IT) / Operational Technology (OT) systems.
Richard Addiscott is the Chief Security Officer for the Silver Chain Group, taking up his post in June 2018. Prior to joining Silver Chain, Richard led Curtin University’s information security team for three years and before that was a Principal Consultant with BAE Systems Applied Intelligence delivering GRC services across Australia. Richard has also held senior IT leadership roles supporting some of Australia's most secure IT environments inside the National Security Community and was a Technical Advisor to Australia’s first National Security Chief Information Officer. Richard's passion and primary focus is developing business-aligned, people-centric and risk appropriate information security capabilities to assist organisations generate and sustain value in today's rapidly transforming digital business environments. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from ECU, a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management from Flinders University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the ANU Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.

Hai Tran is the Chief Information Security Officer for WA Police. His information security expertise extends across range of industry sectors including higher education, telecommunications, technology, state and federal government.
Jeff Campbell is the Information Security Manager at Horizon Power. Jeff has more than 20 years’ experience in Information Security having worked in both private and government organisations in Education, Finance and Utilities sectors.

Professor Craig Valli has over 30 years experience in the ICT Industry and consults to industry and government on cyber security and digital forensics matters. Along with being Director of the ECU Security Research Institute, he is a Professor of Digital Forensics, a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, currently holds the position of acting research director for the CyberSecurityCRC.
